International Women's Day Is All About Women Celebrating Women

At the heart of Jennifer DeMoro Jewelry is not only a story of exquisite design and gemstones but also of empowerment, dreams, and the indomitable spirit of women. As we approach International Women's Day (IWD) on Friday, March 8th, it's a poignant moment to reflect on the journey of Jennifer DeMoro Jewelry and its connection to the essence of this significant day. At its core, this is really all about women celebrating women!

My brand Jennifer DeMoro Jewelry was sparked not just by a lifelong passion for jewelry but by a transformative personal milestone—the birth of my son. This pivotal moment was about more than embracing motherhood; it was a call to action to pursue my dream of creating an empowering jewelry brand that embodies strength, self-expression, and individuality. These ideas also resonate deeply with the spirit of IWD—a global celebration of female empowerment, achievements, and the relentless pursuit of gender equality.

If you're not familiar with IWD, it's a day celebrated worldwide to honor the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. It's not specific to any country or organization. IWD also serves as a call to action for moving toward equality for women everywhere. You may be surprised to learn that IWD has been celebrated for more than a century, with the first gathering happening in 1911; it was supported by over a million people! This year's theme is "Inspire Inclusion", with the goal of creating a more inclusive world for women.

At the core of IWD is the recognition of the trailblazers who have paved the way for women today. As a female entrepreneur and designer, IWD holds a special significance for me. It's a day to honor the courageous women who have fought for our rights, to draw inspiration from their resilience, and to commit ourselves to empower others. I see my creations as more than just jewelry; they are symbols of unity, strength, and the boundless potential of women worldwide.

The narratives of both historical and contemporary women intricately weave through the fabric of my designs. From the audacious women of the past who challenged societal norms to today's fearless individuals shaping their destinies, their stories fuel my creativity. My designs are a tribute to these women, encapsulating their strength, beauty, and individuality. They are crafted to empower the wearer, to celebrate her uniqueness, and to serve as a beacon of inspiration and confidence.

The 1970s, with its vibrant culture and unapologetic expression of individuality, significantly influences my aesthetic. This era, known for its bold fashion and the spirited women who embraced it, inspires me to create empowering jewelry that reflects the essence of freedom and self-expression. My pieces are designed to capture the joyful rebellion and the colorful soul of the '70s, encouraging women to express their personalities and to revel in their authenticity.

One example of the 70s inspiration can be found in my Solara Stardust Pendant Necklace, which is based on the iconic sunset graphic but in 18K yellow gold and with a diamond "sky" to represent sunlight or moonlight, beacons of hope for the future. The topaz and emerald baguettes represent the colors of the ocean. My hope is that you simply can't help but be inspired by the bold, forward-thinking women of the 70s when you behold or wear this piece.

Jewelry, in its most profound sense, is a powerful medium of empowerment and celebration of women's individuality and strength. It's a form of self-expression, a connection to our stories, and a transformational force for our self-worth. It can also be an inspiration for women. Each piece is an invitation to embrace one's uniqueness, to celebrate our differences, and to carry a piece of history and personal narrative. In essence, jewelry is not just adornment but a symbol of empowerment, a talisman for the journey of life.

Looking to the future, Jennifer DeMoro Jewelry is committed to playing a pivotal role in empowering women and advocating for women's rights and achievements. My vision is to celebrate a wider array of women's stories, to showcase their accomplishments, and to support causes that advance women's rights and welfare. Through partnerships, collaborations, and designs that spark conversations, I aim to contribute to a world where women are empowered to achieve their fullest potential.

On International Women's Day, my message to women around the world through my work is to embrace your individuality, recognize your power to effect positive change, and celebrate not only your achievements but those of the women around us. Together, we can redefine narratives, be seen, and create a world where every woman is empowered to shine.

As Jennifer DeMoro Jewelry looks forward to engaging with organizations such as Women For Women, Center for Reproductive Rights, Equal Rights Advocates, and Children International, the goal is clear—to not just create jewelry but to forge connections, inspire change, and celebrate the incredible journey of women everywhere.

This International Women's Day, let's honor the essence of our journey, the beauty of our dreams, and the vibrant tapestry of women's stories that inspire Jennifer DeMoro Jewelry. Together, we can continue to break barriers, celebrate our individuality, and empower one another to reach new heights.
